Appointment to the National Battlefields Commission

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - June 5, 2009) - The Honourable James Moore, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, today announced the appointment of Andre Beaudet as Secretary of the National Battlefields Commission.

"Mr. Beaudet's experience will be a major asset for the Commission", said Minister Moore. "His planning, management, and communications expertise are certain to help the Commission successfully fulfill its mandate."

Mr. Beaudet has occupied several management positions in the communications field, including Executive Director of Televiàsion Communications and French Languages Services and Executive Director of Radio Communications for Societe Radio-Canada, as well as Director of Communications for Radio-Quebec and the Societe des alcools du Quebec. Mr. Beaudet also worked with Action democratique du Quebec and more recently served as Executive Director of the party. He holds a degree in Business Administration from the Universite du Quebec a Trois-Rivieres and a degree in Political Science from Universite Laval.
