Appointment to the National Gallery of Canada Board of Trustees

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Aug. 6, 2009) - The Honourable James Moore, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, today announced the appointment of Guy Bourgeois as a member of the National Gallery of Canada's Board of Trustees.

"I am pleased that Mr. Bourgeois has accepted to serve on the Board of Trustees," said Minister Moore. "His extensive background in marketing, combined with his artistic flair as an amateur photographer and digital artist, will be a valuable asset for the Board."

Mr. Bourgeois is currently the national director of marketing/communications at Rogers Wireless, overseeing the market for the Fido brand. He has held various senior positions in branding and advertising since joining the company in 1997.

Mr. Bourgeois is also himself an artist. Over the past 11 years, some of his work has been exhibited at various locations in Montreal, including the O Patro Vys, the Quartier electro Gallery, the Wilder and Davis Gallery, and the Universite de Montreal.

Mr. Bourgeois is a marketing graduate from the Universite de Moncton, with studies in communications at the University of British Columbia and in advertising at the Universite de Montreal.
