Appraisal Institute of Canada Members Help Habitat for Humanity Build Homes Across Canada

Halifax, Ottawa and Winnipeg AIC Members and Partners Involved in Community Initiative

OTTAWA, ON --(Marketwired - October 10, 2013) - Real estate appraisers from the Appraisal Institute of Canada (AIC) membership are teaming up with their local Habitat for Humanity Canada affiliates to help build new homes for families in their community. This year, AIC members participated in three builds including Halifax, Ottawa and Winnipeg. The AIC's Value of Home Program encourages its members to participate in their local builds and to donate to the cause.

"Our partnership with Habitat for Humanity Canada is important to AIC members and we are thrilled that our participation continues to grow every year," says Dan Wilson, President of the Appraisal Institute of Canada. "Our members' commitment to helping families in their community lead a better life is admirable and reflects our belief that a home is not just a piece of real estate -- it is an important foundation in the future of a child, a family and a community. We are very proud to be part of this initiative."

For the first time in AIC's history, three builds took place across Canada in the span on one month, including:

September 10, 2013 - Halifax, NS

September 16 & 17, 2013 - Ottawa, ON

October 1, 2013 - Winnipeg, ON
