VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA and TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Jan. 9, 2014) - Approximately $2.4 million made available to class members who purchased secondary market tickets for events in Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta and Quebec through the TicketsNow website (www.ticketsnow.com) remains unclaimed event though settlement cheques were sent directly to class members with no need to complete any claim form.
People who purchased eligible tickets through www.ticketsnow.com were mailed settlement cheques in January 2013. The cheques were sent to the address provided by that person in connection with their last transaction with TicketsNow. However to date, approximately 24 per cent of the cheques have not been cashed.
The ultimate deadline for cashing cheques is January 27, 2014. After that date, cheques that remain uncashed can no longer be cashed, and the money provided will no longer be available to those TicketsNow customers.
People who received cheques should cash their cheques before the January 27, 2014 cashing deadline. There are no additional costs or steps required in order to do so.
People who did not receive a settlement cheque, but believe that they purchased eligible tickets, can contact the Settlement Administrator, which will determine whether they are in the class and entitled to a cheque. People who misplaced the cheque they received can contact the Settlement Administrator and request a replacement cheque (which must also be cashed by January 27, 2014) at no additional cost.
