Apptio and ServiceNow Join Forces to Provide Innovative IT Services Transformation Solution

Cloud-Based Offering Accelerates IT Services Transformation and Business Alignment

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - May 12, 2011) - Apptio, the leading provider of on-demand Technology Business Management (TBM) solutions, and ServiceNow, the creators of SaaS for IT management, today announced a new joint partnership that combines market-leading cloud services for IT service automation and IT financial and performance management into an integrated offering. Together, these two SaaS-based innovators will enable their customer base to automate their IT operations and redefine their IT planning lifecycle with an integrated, purpose-built solution designed to help IT leaders make smarter decisions about optimizing IT and transforming to a services portfolio management strategy. The dynamic nature of today's organizations where business services can be instantly provisioned and accessed on demand requires a more agile approach to managing the cost, quality, and value of IT services. With this announcement, ServiceNow and Apptio introduce a modern approach for the "New IT," where IT and the business are inseparable and IT services, resource planning, and decision-making can be made in near real-time.

Initially, the two companies are providing integration between Apptio IT Service Costing, IT Service Performance, and IT Planning applications with ServiceNow Service Catalog, Service Portfolio, CMDB, and Project and Portfolio Management. The combined capabilities enable Apptio's TBM suite to leverage management data stored in ServiceNow, such as asset information, operations work time and project labor. In addition, ServiceNow will be able to drive more insightful IT service portfolio decisions by leveraging Apptio's activity-based costing and IT planning engine.
