AppWorx to Demonstrate Unique Process Automation Technology for Solaris 10 OS Customers at Sun's Worldwide Education and Research Conference 2007

BELLEVUE, WA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- February 5, 2007 -- AppWorx Corporation today announced that it has been invited to demonstrate its business process automation software at Sun Microsystems' Worldwide Education and Research Conference 2007. AppWorx will showcase its integration with the Sun Solaris Dynamic Tracing (DTrace) feature, a powerful system-wide tracing framework introduced with the Solaris 10™ Operating System. Developed in cooperation with Sun, the AppWorx solution brings system-level data into workload management, enabling more reliable automation of critical business processes and reducing costly, unplanned downtime.

"With the measurements provided by AppWorx and DTrace in tandem, companies can ensure that resources are optimally distributed between business applications based on need and IT line-of-business requirements," said Amir Raz, market segment manager at Sun Microsystems. "By leveraging the resulting data, businesses could gain a new level of visibility and control over their enterprise and the ability to optimize the data center to align it with users' business needs."

DTrace is a comprehensive, advanced tracing tool for troubleshooting systemic problems in real time. With DTrace, administrators, integrators, and developers can tune applications for performance and troubleshoot production systems. Used in conjunction with the open architecture and automation capabilities of AppWorx, users can quickly and easily build workload management policies that optimize processing by taking into account in-depth information on what resources are being used, as well as where and how they are being utilized. This solution is available for the Solaris 10 OS running on SPARC® as well as AMD x64 processors.

"Optimal use of IT resources demands efficient workload balancing, superior application automation, and highly visible systems monitoring," said Brian Miller, vice president of technical services for AppWorx Corp. "AppWorx integrated with the Solaris DTrace framework is just one more way that our automation and integration software is delivering significant business value to the modern enterprise."

The Worldwide Education and Research Conference is February 6-8, 2007 in downtown San Francisco. The event is expected to draw approximately 500 CIO-level members of Sun's higher education customer base. AppWorx counts more than 150 higher education institutions among its global customer base of over 700 organizations.
