Apsalar Introduces Daily Cohort Analytics to Optimize Mobile App Retention, Engagement and Monetization

Mobile Publishers Can Make Better Decisions Sooner by Measuring Critical User Behavior Data Within the First and Following Days After the Download of Their Apps

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - Feb 7, 2012) - Apsalar ( today announces availability of real-time Daily Cohorts, an addition to its existing Mobile Engagement Management (MEM) platform and ApScience™ analytics services. Until today, cohorts analysis has been available to the mobile market only on a weekly basis.

Daily Cohorts analysis allows publishers to group users together in a single segment by the day they first launched the app and to create a new and mutually exclusive segment of users each subsequent day. For many apps (particularly freemium games), the first two to three user sessions will determine the average lifetime value of a user. Accordingly, getting actionable revenue and engagement feedback rapidly is critical for apps to optimize the user experience for increased retention, engagement and monetization. Daily Cohorts analysis provides this feedback.

Additionally, many app developers now push changes in their apps more often than once per week; real-time daily cohort data can be used to determine the impact of these changes. By examining the behaviors of separate cohort groups, app publishers can quickly determine the impact of any app changes, by looking at the effect on retention, engagement and revenue of users in cohorts prior to the change and comparing them to the users in the cohorts after the change.
