Aptimus, Inc. Appoints Michael Mayor as Senior Vice President of Strategic Business Development

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- July 27, 2005 -- Aptimus, Inc. (NASDAQ: APTM), the online lead generation network, today announced the appointment of Michael Mayor, 44, to the position of Senior Vice President of Strategic Business Development. Mr. Mayor fills a new position at Aptimus and will help lead the company in growing the business development team and expanding the Aptimus publisher network. Based in the New York area, he will also give the company an East Coast presence.

Michael Mayor, a twenty-year veteran of the direct marketing industry, is a recognized pioneer of interactive marketing and an email marketing thought leader. Mr. Mayor comes to Aptimus from NetCreations, where he spent seven years in various roles, including most recently President & COO. He recently coordinated the successful sale of NetCreations to Return Path.

Prior to joining NetCreations, he spent thirteen years at Hearst Magazines in a number of roles spanning the publishing business including circulation, advertising, direct response, telemarketing, fulfillment and New Media.
