AQCM: Why Heat With Oil This Winter!

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - Sept. 26, 2005) -

The AQCM - Who are we?

For the past 50 years, the AQCM (Quebec oil heat association) regroups the major Quebec oil distributors and the oil heat equipment manufacturers. We offer a competitive market to consumers so they can profit from the best possible prices.

Even while considering the recent price hikes in petroleum products, we can see that historically, the price of oil heat is clearly inferior to that of other energy sources. The following graphic shows that over the past five years, oil heat has stayed an average of 3 cents per litre less than electricity or natural gas (including the 2005 heating season). We cannot take for granted that other forms of heating will not go up.

Additional figures can be seen on the CCNMatthews' website at the following address:

With oil heat, you now profit from innovative technologies that boost the efficiency of oil heat equipment. New burners now have 85% efficiency. This alone allows for a 20% reduction in energy consumption.

Oil heat has always been a trustworthy and safe energy source that offers fast combustion and a more constant heat. In short, oil heat guarantees unique comfort.

Again this year, the members of the AQCM in association with the Sun Youth organization, are giving away free heating oil to less fortunate families in the Montreal region in order to help them through winter's intense cold.

Sun Youth gathers the demands and chooses the families that need immediate intervention. The names of the chosen families are then sent to one of the distributors for immediate delivery.

The association between Sun Youth and the AQCM has been helping needy families for many years and has to date delivered close to 1.2 Million litres of heating oil. "We are sensitive to the needs of our customers across the province who have less" mentioned AQCM President Normand Leblanc.
