Aquatic Informatics Inc.: Water Survey Canada Full Roll Out

Canada's Water Monitoring Agency Completes National Deployment of AQUARIUS

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Jan. 20, 2012) - Aquatic Informatics Inc., a global leader in providing innovative software solutions for hydrologic data management and analysis, announced today the successful completion of the national deployment of the AQUARIUS system across all of the Water Survey of Canada's 28 offices. The real-time operations for the organization's entire national water monitoring network will now benefit from the increased efficiency in acquiring, processing and publishing hydrometric data offered by AQUARIUS Software.

Water Survey of Canada (WSC) continues to lead the way in leveraging the latest technology for implementing integrated water resource management (IWRM). With AQUARIUS, Water Survey Canada has established itself as a leader in providing the highest quality data and decision-making tools for its team of over 200 hydrologists as well as its varied public stakeholders across Canada.

"Water Survey of Canada is at the forefront of adopting the best technology available to ensure hydrometric data is properly managed," adds Ed Quilty, President and CEO of Aquatic Informatics. "They are a great partner to work with because they understand what the future of hydrometric monitoring looks like and are committed to implementing a system that will take them there. We are proud to be working with them and look forward to a long term relationship."

The Water Survey of Canada is the national authority responsible for the collection, interpretation and dissemination of standardized water resource data and information in Canada. In partnership with the provinces, territories and other agencies, WSC operates over 2500 active hydrometric gauges across the country. AQUARIUS processes data from rivers and lakes across Canada and derives the discharge (quantity) of water flowing in the nation's rivers. Whether it is to define reliable supplies of good quality water, to determine hydro power potential, to assess irrigation potential or to protect Canada's sovereignty over its water resources, AQUARIUS will play a central role ensuring this information is reliable, easy to access and is published faster.
