Ilham the largest Arabian Dance Show ever produced in the UK makes its debut in London in October. This unique show, the first of its kind, brings you dance performances seldom seen in the UK. Ilham meaning inspiration is a spectacular dance show taking you on a magical journey through Arabian culture and its many influences from the past and present.

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - Sept. 28, 2009) - The show is produced by The Arabian Dance Theatre Company, which comprises of over twenty five Arabic and British artists, many of whom are the leading professionals of Arabian dance within Europe. Ilham brings to the stage mesmerizing dance performances such as belly dance, whirling dervish, and rare dances such as Khaleegy (from the Gulf) and Egyptian folk dances such as Zar, Saidi, Falahi and Alexandrian.

llham is directed by the Egyptian dance star Shafeek Ibrahim (lead dancer from the Cairo Opera House). Shafeek came to the UK four years ago after marrying his soul mate Tara in Cairo. They had both met through exceptional circumstances whilst performing together for an Egyptian musical in Sharm El Sheik. Their relationship and work has fascinated many, and in 2008 alone they featured in three National publications (Sunday Express, Look Magazine and Spirit and Destiny Magazine).

With their combined passion, they have been on a mission to increase positive awareness of Arabian culture through dance and music. Using London as a base, Shafeek has become an internationally renowned performer, teacher and choreographer. He has also started the first stage school for Arabian dance arts in the world, which has been running successfully in London for over 2 years. Shafeek is arguably one of the most creative and professional dancers to come from Egypt who has been influential in bringing Arabic dance to the forefront in Europe.

Ilham promises to be a feast for the senses, encompassing colour, beautiful costumes, uplifting music, and dances to stimulate your imagination.
