Arapahoe Energy Corporation: News Release

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(CCNMatthews - Oct. 5, 2005) - Arapahoe Energy Corporation (the "Corporation"- "Arapahoe") (TSX VENTURE:AAO) announces that it has participated in the drilling and completion of two (2) successful wells in central Alberta.

The Campbell area well was completed in the Basal Quartz formation and tested 1.6 million cubic feet of natural gas per day (1.6 MMCF/day) and 144 barrels of light (32.5 degree API) crude oil per day, equating to approximately 410 barrels of oil equivalent per day (410 BOEPD(i)). Arapahoe's interest in the Campbell area well is 25% interest before well payout and 12.5% interest after well payout. A number of additional development drilling locations are contemplated in which Arapahoe will have a 12.5% participating interest. The other central Alberta area well has been completed for potential gas production in two (2) formations and a third formation is currently being completed for potential light oil production. Arapahoe's interest in this well is 21% interest before well payout and 12.6% interest after well payout. Additional development locations are anticipated in which Arapahoe will have a 12.6% participating interest. Production rates and further information on this well will be forthcoming in a future news release.

The Corporation is a publicly traded junior oil and natural gas exploration company with its shares listed on the TSX Venture Exchange under the trading symbol "AAO". The Corporation is engaged in the exploration, development and production of oil and natural gas in Western Canada. Arapahoe's primary area of exploration focus is the Alberta Foothills specifically on the Tsuu T'ina First Nation (Sarcee Area) immediately west of the City of Calgary.

(i) Boe's may be misleading, particularly if used in isolation. A BOE conversion ratio of 6 Mcf: 1 Bbl is based on an energy equivalency conversion method primarily applicable at the burner tip and does not represent a value equivalency at the wellhead.
