Arbor Networks Announces Strategic Partnership With Japan's Net One Systems Co., Ltd.

Net One Systems to Offer Arbor's Peakflow Security Products to Customers in Service Provider and Enterprise Markets

LEXINGTON, MA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 23, 2007 -- Arbor Networks, a leading provider of core-to-core network security and operational performance for global business networks, today announced that it has formed a strategic partnership with Japan networking and systems integration leader Net One Systems. Net One Systems will offer the complete range of Arbor Peakflow products to provide its customers with increased security offerings and improved network security through network-wide data collection, data analysis, anomaly detection and threat mitigation. Arbor Networks currently generates forty percent of revenue from international markets, much of it through strategic partner relationships with companies like Net One Systems.

Headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, Net One Systems is a leading networking and systems integration provider in Japan. Net One Systems has amassed vast experience and expertise in four critical integration business sectors: Network Integration, Network Computing, Service Integration and Media Integration. Through these four business sectors and the efficient interplay of the solutions that underpin them, Net One Systems provides information systems adapted to the individual needs and activities of their client companies.

"Further penetration in the Japanese market is a very important part of Arbor's growth plans going forward and we want to work with the highest quality partners in terms of their reputations and relationships," said Jack Boyle, Arbor's chief executive officer. "System integration is such a major concern for service providers and enterprises that we felt it was very important to partner with a company the calibre of Net One Systems."

"Arbor Networks Peakflow product suite addresses some of the most critical requirements of our service provider and enterprise customers, namely the need to improve security and operational performance," said Mr. Tomohiro Iwamoto, general manager of network technology operations at Net One Systems. "Together, we can provide these companies a comprehensive, turn-key solution from which they will be able to realize rapid return on their investment."

Arbor's solutions are built upon the Peakflow platform, an architecture for network-wide data collection, analysis and anomaly detection. The Peakflow platform leverages flow data to provide network-wide visibility and anomaly detection by determining what's "normal" on the network and then alerting network and security managers to abnormalities as they occur. Arbor Networks provides solutions for both enterprises and service providers with Arbor Peakflow SP and Arbor Peakflow X products, respectively.

Today over 70 percent of the world's leading ISPs rely on Arbor Peakflow SP for the network-wide visibility and security they need to proactively fend off malicious threats and strengthen the quality of their service. In addition to being their security platform of choice, Peakflow SP is enabling these providers to reduce cost by improving operational efficiencies and to increase profitability by delivering new revenue-generating managed services.

Arbor Networks' Peakflow X security platform was purpose-built to meet the demands of the largest enterprises, addressing a wide range of external and internal security threats while maintaining business continuity. It constructs a system-wide view of the entire network, auto-learning host behaviors to determine who talks to whom, and how. In real-time, Arbor Peakflow X compares traffic against these baselines to perform network behavior analysis (NBA), an innovative management technique used to identify developing security threats that do not yet have signatures -- and therefore may easily slip by other devices such as intrusion prevention systems and firewalls -- including virulent "zero day" attacks.

The Peakflow platforms are complemented by Arbor's Security Engineering & Response Team (ASERT). ASERT is a security monitoring service staffed with some of the world's most talented network security professionals. The global penetration of Arbor's flow-based anomaly detection devices in more than seventy percent of the world's service provider networks is a distinct advantage for Arbor's security researchers and customers. ASERT is able to analyze and track large scale vulnerabilities as they develop, enabling Arbor to better serve its customers by helping them prioritize resources to stop vulnerabilities that are the most imminent threats to their networks.
