Archean Star Resources Bunarra Prospect Partial Assay Results

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - April 11, 2011) - Archean Star Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:ASP) and its wholly owned subsidiary, Archean Star Resources Australia Pty, Ltd (together "Archean" or the "Company") report that partial assay results have been received for diamond drill holes BN005 and BN006, from the diamond drill program recently conducted on the Bunarra prospect, Gnaweeda Gold Project, at Meekatharra, Western Australia.

Diamond drill hole BN005 intersected 79 meters (259 ft) from 122 meters to 201 meters, that averaged 0.31 grams per tonne gold (g/t Au), that includes, 18 meters (59 ft) from 134 meters to152 meters that averaged 0.82 g/t Au, and including 3 meters (9.9 feet) from 145 meters to 148 meters that averaged 3.35 g/t Au. Results are tabulated below.

Diamond Drill HoleFrom
BN004 (TD155.5m)90.396.56.20.72
BN005 (TD 264m)122.0201.079.00.31
BN006 (TD246m)No significant results

Gold mineralization in BN005 is associated with quartz-tourmaline veins, arsenopyrite, and pyrite from 120 meters to 150 meters (98 ft), and, at lower grade, is associated with pyrite from approximately 150 to 200 meters (163 ft). The most significant intersection to date is drill hole BN003 (previously reported), that intersected an 18 meter (59 ft) intersection of 11.71 g/t Au that includes 4 meters (13 ft) at 37.76 g/t Au, (inclusive of a 1 meter intersection (3.3 ft) averaging 110.1 g/t Au), 1 meter (3.3 ft) at 24.2 g/t Au and 3m (10 ft) at 7.09 g/t Au. There is a strong positive correlation between gold, silver, and arsenic. The primary host rock for the gold mineralization is dolerite.

In addition to a 1.3 meter (4.2 ft) intersection that graded 14.6 g/t Au from BN004, as announced in the Company's news release ASP2011-02, BN004 contains a 6.2 meter (20.3 ft) interval from 90.3 meters to 96.5 meters that graded an average of 0.724 g/t Au. BN006 had no significant values.

This identified mineralized zone has a strike-length of approximately 200 meters, and is open along strike and to depth. The results from BN006 has led Company geologists to reassess the strike of the mineralized zone from what was originally believed to be SW to NE to a probable northerly strike. The gold intersections to date show significant variability in both widths and grades. The mineralization may be present in several parallel zones. Assays are pending for DDH's BN007 through BN010.

The next phase work program consists of a 6 hole diamond drilling at the St. Anne's prospect and a 3D IP survey over the Bunarra zone to determine the extent of the mineralized zone, and to identify a signature that may be applied to the other three known mineralized zones, Turnberry, St. Anne's and Far East. Additionally a fourth target, a large structural/alteration target identified by geophysics lies approximately three km northwest of the Turnberry zone.

Archean Star Resources Inc. is a junior exploration company that, through its wholly owned subsidiary, Archean Star Resources Australia Pty Ltd, has entered into an Option Agreement, subject to a 75% back in right, to earn 100% of Teck Australia Pty Ltd's ("Teck") interest in Chalice Gold Mines Limited's Gnaweeda Gold Project in West Australia. Kent Exploration Inc. (TSX VENTURE:KEX) with approximately 10,000,000 shares or 35% of the outstanding common shares, is the controlling shareholder of Archean.
