Architectural Data Systems and Architectural Computer Services Announce Alliance at 2005 CSI Show & Convention

KATONAH, NY and SALT LAKE CITY, UT -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 15, 2005 -- Architectural Data Systems, LLC (ADS) and Architectural Computer Services, Inc. (ARCOM) will roll-out their alliance at the 49th Annual CSI Show & Convention being held in Chicago, IL April 19-24. ADS and ARCOM have formed an agreement to integrate the MASTERSPEC® Architectural/Structural/Civil Short Form library into ADS' Web-based automation software, ADS-Online. ADS and ARCOM will be providing live demonstrations of how their integrated system ADS-MASTERSPEC will work together throughout the show at Booth #2021.

ADS' online software now interfaces with Autodesk® Architectural Desktop and AutoCAD® design software and is now fully compatible with ARCOM's MASTERWORKS™ software. ADS is one of the first companies to introduce a new generation of products, designed by architects for architects, that integrates document production. MASTERSPEC is the leading master specification system in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry. The alliance with MASTERSPEC® fosters industry efforts to improve the interoperability of building information modeling (BIM) programs and construction specifications.

The agreement will allow ADS to bundle MASTERSPEC into its Web-based software for use by ADS' customers, while providing ARCOM the opportunity to offer ADS' automation capabilities to MASTERSPEC Licensed Users. "This agreement will provide improved integration, automation, and error checking," said ARCOM President Edward F. Smith, D. Arch, FAIA, CSI, "and will facilitate the production of construction specifications by selecting product and material attributes, which then generates the specification."

"ADS' unique, Web-based software moves the architect from a multi-step production process to a single step process that integrates product selection with document production, while enabling easy knowledge management. This single step process creates schedules, specs, and details simultaneously," said Chuck Williams, AIA, Chief Executive Officer of ADS. "ADS-MASTERSPEC is an especially powerful combination because of its comprehensiveness and its specification tutorials. We are very excited about this opportunity to work with ARCOM to replace error-prone manual document production and coordination with a process that frees up the architect to use their most valuable skills -- designing and decision making."
