Arctic Star and Tres-Or Recover More Diamonds from the Lapointe Kimberlite, Ontario

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Sept. 21, 2005) - Arctic Star Diamond Corp. ("Arctic Star") (TSX VENTURE:ADD) and Tres-Or Resources Ltd. ("Tres-Or") (TSX VENTURE:TRS) are pleased to announce that 10 additional diamonds were recovered from caustic fusion analysis from the initial 4 drill hole program at the Lapointe Kimberlite discovery. The initial micro-diamond tests have returned significant diamonds, including 1 clear, white gem stone weighing 0.0665 carats, and 6 diamonds that are larger than 500 microns in one dimension. After logging, half split core was collected into 8 kg samples. To date, a total of 588.5 kg were processed at Thunder Bay Diamond Laboratory in Thunder Bay, Ontario, where 30 diamonds have been recovered (see news release dated July 20, 2005). The remaining split core from the initial 4 drill hole program is at the lab, and results are pending.

Table 1. Total number of stones remaining on square meshed screens of specified sizes in microns (1000 microns equals 1 mm) from the caustic fusion tests of 588.5 kg of Lapointe Kimberlite.

The Lapointe Kimberlite is a large, multiphase pipe in excess of 21 hectares in surface extents, based on airborne magnetics and the first 4 drill holes which intersected the body. A 3,500 metre drill program is underway to delineate the recently discovered Lapointe Kimberlite in Ontario. This delineation program is designed to test all parts of the body, which has already been shown to be comprised of at least 3 intrusive events, each of which has returned diamonds. The encouraging diamond recovery, backed up by favourable indicator mineral chemistry (including sub-calcic (G10) pyropes and eclogite garnets with compositions similar to inclusions in diamonds) has led to the decision to undertake this delineation program. Three drill holes have been completed and were collared and exited in kimberlite. Drill core is being logged, split and shipped to the lab for caustic fusion analysis.

The delineation drilling program is expected to be completed by November, 2005, and complete micro- and macro-diamond results are expected by year end. Results from this delineation program will form the basis of a decision to undertake a mini-bulk sample during the winter of 2005 and 2006.
