Twelve new Life Coaches for high-risk GTA youth in conflict with the law. Coaches Receive Training Seminar from Reowned Olympic Consultant in Sport Psychology

Attention: Assignment Editor, City Editor, Education Editor, News Editor, Sports Editor TORONTO, ONTARIO, PRESS RELEASE--(CCNMatthews - April 10, 2007) - PACT LifePlan Coaching, a program designed to create long-term life strategies and supports for high-risk GTA youth in conflict with the law, is thrilled to announce a $20,000 funding boost from The Argos Foundation - Stop The Violence.

The PACT LifePlan and Coaching Program targets youth at risk of becoming career criminals and works with them to create a customized plan that addresses their identified needs while establishing their key life goals. The program gives youth the structure they need to focus on life improvement and the support network to keep them away from crime and past risk factors. The goal is to turn them into productive and law-abiding citizens.

"The Argos Foundation has made a tremendous community difference by committing to the PACT LifePlan and Coaching Program," said David Lockett, PACT Program co-founder. "The Argos Foundation and its community partners have shown a shared mandate of leadership on the issue of crime reduction across the GTA."

Heidi Spannbauer, Executive Director, The Argos Foundation, commented, "The Argos Foundation is pleased to contribute to a program that is making such a difference in our community. Their goals are very much in line with ours: to mentor disengaged youth, create active role models and show young people that there are positive options for their futures."

Addressing the Need
The LifePlan Coaching program exists as a judge's referral tool for reintegrating youth in conflict with the law in the GTA. The skills acquired through this program greatly help youth learn how to grow as individuals, take personal responsibility for their actions, work well with others, make well-thought-out decisions, develop healthy levels of self-esteem and achieve their goals in life.

The PACT LifePlan and Coaching Program is a crucial initiative for working with upstream youth in serious conflict with the law, both those coming out of custodial settings as well as those on the brink of incarceration.

PACT Lifeplan Coaching promotes a balanced, productive and law-abiding lifestyle, by helping to create customized and structured reintegration strategies, as well as promoting practical and comprehensive life-skills.
