Ariane Moffat, l'Ecole des fans, Star Académie, Nickelback and Oliver Jones Featured on High-Speed Zone this November

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - Oct. 28, 2005) - This November, Videotron's High-Speed Zone ( offers a host of exclusive features and firsts, including CD launches for Star Academie and l'Ecole des fans, a video chat with Ariane Moffat, and never-before-seen footage of Nickelback and Oliver Jones during recent Montreal performances.

Star Academie

Beginning November 1st, at 6 p.m., High-Speed Zone kicks off the month with a full-length presentation of the 2005 Star Academie CD launch. Subscribers to Videotron's High-Speed and Extreme High-Speed Internet access services can view the long-awaited event live. Four Star Academie hopefuls will each perform a solo number, followed by a group performance of all the contestants.

The CD launch promises to be chock-full of surprises for subscribers. For starters, they get early Internet access to a video that will be premiering during the launch, featuring content that's been a closely-guarded secret until now. They can also attend the press conference hosted by Julie Snyder. Already enjoying a front-row view thanks to 39 Web cameras set up all over the Sainte-Adele site, Star Academie fans will be treated to a free, exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at the popular show.

L'Ecole des Fans Christmas Album

The next evening, young talent from l'Ecole des fans will follow in their idols' footsteps with the launch of a new Christmas album, entitled Les fans chantent Noel. The young singers will showcase their talent with an original, moving rendition of the popular French hit by Anne Sylvestre, Noel n'est pas en magasin. Videotron customers can attend the launch via the High-Speed Zone (, where the singles Noel n'est pas en magasin and Les enfants de Noel, both on the CD, will be available for free listening. It all begins on November 2 at 5 p.m.

Video Chat with Ariane Moffat

As spokesperson of Jeunes musiciens du monde (JMM), an organization that provides training to young people in traditional world music, Ariane Moffat, will chat with High-Speed Zone subscribers on November 10, beginning at 7 p.m. Topics will include her involvement with JMM, a project that is close to her heart. The video chat is offered to subscribers on the High-Speed Zone as part of the launch of the single Un Noel sans pluie, written by Pierre Lapointe and recorded by some 20 artists, including Ariane Moffat, Daniel Belanger, Marc Dery and Pierre Lapointe. Videotron will also premier the video for the song and the 'making of' the recording session.

Nickelback on MusiquePlus

Turning to another musical genre, the High-Speed Zone will feature exclusive performance and backstage highlights from a recent Nickelback visit to the MusiquePlus studios in Montreal. The group was in Quebec promoting its latest CD, All the Right Reasons, already topping the sales charts in Canada and the U.S. Fans will definitely want to log on November 5 to see this exclusive Nickelback footage.

The Works of Oliver Jones

Coinciding with Montreal's Salon du livre book fair, Videotron is giving its high-speed Internet customers a unique look at jazz legend Oliver Jones. In another High-Speed Zone exclusive, subscribers will be able to view online, as of November 19, a performance Oliver Jones gave recently in an Archambault store at the launch of his biography Oliver Jones : Le musicien et l'homme, written by Marthe Sansregret.

Meggie Launches Solo CD

Meggie, a 2004 Star Academie finalist, is releasing her first solo album. The CD launch is slated for November 15. The High-Speed Zone will air a full-length presentation of the launch to give Videotron customers the chance to rediscover Meggie's talent.

Subscribers Treated to Pre-Christmas Gift

Beginning November 2, the High-Speed Zone will offer subscribers a free download of a song by popular groups and artists such as Coldplay, Gorillaz, Kardinal Offishall and KT Tunstall. A new song will be available for free downloading every Wednesday for four weeks.
