Arkadium Announces Games Lineup for Xbox Games on Windows 8

Game Studio Reimagines Iconic Embedded Games for Microsoft's New Operating System

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - Sep 5, 2012) -  Arkadium (http://www.arkadium.com; twitter.com/Arkadium), a top game development studio, announced that together with Microsoft Studios it has redesigned three classic games for the upcoming Windows 8 operating system, in addition to launching the innovative new puzzle game, Taptiles.

Solitaire Collection, Minesweeper and Mahjongg have been staples of the Microsoft OS for years, and are considered to be the most played games of all time. Arkadium's new versions of these games have been optimized for touch devices and offer customized content and new modes of play. Taptiles, a 3D puzzle game, also now joins the lineup of classics.

"These are the first games we are releasing as part of the multi-year, multi-game partnership with Microsoft Studios that we announced in January," said Kenny Rosenblatt. "We have taken strong evergreen titles and worked on transforming them into new experiences that make game play even more addictive and fun. And just as the previous classics pioneered gaming for desktops, we're excited to launch Taptiles, a new game destined to become a classic for next generation touch devices."

Microsoft Studios announced their portfolio of Xbox games for Windows 8 on August 31st, and continues to deliver an innovative mix of fun-to-play titles, all of which can be played on any PC, laptop or tablet with Windows 8. Xbox, which is all about bringing great games to Windows 8, gives players the ability to find games for every style of play -- from the latest hits to favorite classics. Players can join in the fun with friends, create and customize personal avatars, track progress on leaderboards and earn Xbox Achievements.
