Arkansas Launches New Girls Getaways Web Site

LITTLE ROCK, AR--(Marketwire - August 18, 2009) - When it comes down to it, making memories are what girlfriend getaways are all about. In Arkansas, respites can take the traditional form of spas, shopping and dining, as well as unique package deals that can include cooking, art and the outdoors. With that in mind, Arkansas has launched a new Web site: http://www.Arkansas.com/GirlsGetaways.

Girls Spa Getaways

Eureka Springs and Hot Springs are quintessential spa towns that pamper women with massages, facials, body wraps, pedicures and more. Both spa cities are known for shopping opportunities galore, great food, and nighttime entertainment venues. In Hot Springs, you'll also find horse racing at Oaklawn Gaming and Racing from mid-January through mid-April and simulcast racing and electronic games of skill throughout the year.

Shop, Wine, and Dine

Girls looking for a little "Sex and the City" glam can head to cities like Little Rock or Fayetteville to shop and dine, then find a piano bar, sing karaoke, or dance the night away to a live band.

At an Arkansas vineyard, girls can uncork some fun while savoring more than picturesque scenery. Five wineries in the Arkansas River Valley offer tours and tasting rooms. In Eureka Springs, located in the northwest Ozarks, Keel's Creek Winery offers tastings amid an art gallery.

Both Winthrop Rockefeller Institute near Morrilton and Nibbles Academy of Cooking in Fayetteville offer recreational cooking classes for private parties.

For Outdoor Enthusiasts

With more than 250 hiking trails in The Natural State, outdoor enthusiasts can choose from day hikes to extended backpacking excursions. Some trails are legendary among mountain bikers, others among horseback riders. At Stonecreek Ranch Resort near Mountain Home, special women's retreats involve learning good horsemanship and rejuvenation of the mind, body, and soul. Numerous streams, like the Buffalo National River, are popular for canoeing, kayaking and rafting, and have outfitter services.

For girls groups whose interests lie a little more on the sporty side, golf shoes are welcome at all 13 Arkansas Golf Trail courses as well as at other diverse links across The Natural State.

When planning a girlfriend getaway to Arkansas, check the Hot Deals and Packages section on www.Arkansas.com, and be sure to visit http:www.arkansas.com/girlsgetaways/ for sample itineraries.
