Arkansas Transit Agency Improves On-Time Performance and Operational Efficiencies With RouteMatch Software's Demand Response Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) Technologies

ATLANTA, GA and JONESBORO, AR--(Marketwired - Jun 3, 2013) - Jonesboro Economical Transportation System (JETS), a demand response and fixed route transportation provider serving the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, uses RouteMatch Software's Demand Response technology solution to improve and measure their on-time performance, which improved by 17%, as well as increased their passengers per service hour for more efficient and strategic transit operations. The transit agency now averages 2-3 passengers per service hour.

RouteMatch's ITS platform enabled JETS to automate their reservation process -- something that before was done manually by the agency's three schedulers. RouteMatch's flexible user-defined settings have allowed the agency to accommodate more reservations and have saved their employees time.

"RouteMatch has saved our schedulers and reservationist at least 45 minutes a day, and that adds up. The upgrade to an automated scheduling and dispatch system has provided the agency with greater insight into exactly how their routes and rides are being managed.

Previously, on-time performance was measured manually and trip times were not negotiated or optimized. The agency now uses RouteMatch's scheduling engine to negotiate ad-hoc trips with the various health and human services providers they partner with. Equally importantly, JETS was able to use RouteMatch's verification tool to calculate the cost per trip and make more informed decisions on negotiated trip costs, helping them save money.
