Arla Foods Chooses Widen Enterprises for Managing Digital Brand Assets Globally

Global Dairy Co-Op Selects Widen DAM for Its Cloud-Based Service, Strong Reputation, Affordability, and Distinct Advantages for International Collaboration

MADISON, WI--(Marketwired - May 28, 2013) - Arla Foods (www.arla.com), a global leader in dairy and organic foods, today announced the selection of Widen (www.widen.com) for its digital asset management needs. With sales offices in over 30 countries and distribution in more than 100 countries, the Denmark-based dairy cooperative needed a cost-efficient brand management solution conducive to decentralized advertising operations.

"Arla is a dairy collective for international brands, so we needed a solution that could work around the world," said Daniel Peulicke Hansen, Digital Project Manager at ADtomic, Arla's digital advertising agency. With at least 30 asset administrators in Denmark and countless advertising and marketing affiliates in markets from Buenos Aires to Beijing, Arla needed what Hansen calls a "true cloud" solution.

Specifically, Arla wanted a web-based DAM solution that could enable multiple contributors, give ad agencies read and download permission, support scalable hosting, and carry out bulk uploads. Moreover, Arla's DAM software needed to support multiple video, audio, and image formats, PowerPoint presentations, and desktop publishing tools like Adobe Creative Suite.

Widen digital asset management met Arla's core needs. "We also found a lot of positive reviews in the blogosphere," said Hansen. "We gave that some credit, but it was more a matter of the support we felt from Widen's team. We also saw Widen's use of Amazon cloud services as a stamp of quality."

"Arla's use cases are a direct match with Widen's strengths," said Gary Norris, Widen CTO. "Cloud-based, easy-to-use interface, scalability, structured read-only and edit permissions, Audio/Video, etc. We're very excited to add Arla's global footprint to our user base."

Widen's centralized digital asset library promises to streamline creative and marketing workflows for the international dairy company. Hansen believes the system will also provide unprecedented opportunities for collaboration and idea sharing: "Want to be able to gather successful campaigns from Saudi Arabia or Bahrain, for instance, push them into the system, and let the central team say 'hey guys, someone has done some great ad work locally, we think you should utilize this in other environments with local cultural adaptions.'"
