ArmedZilla.com Captures Market Niche by Launching Social Media Platform for the Military

PHOENIX, AZ--(Marketwire - July 12, 2010) -  ArmedZilla.com, a unique social networking website, exclusively designed for US military members, launches a support community to connect military personnel, veterans, friends, family and supporters worldwide.

With over 24 million veterans and 2.3 million currently serving in the United States military, many feel a need to connect with one another to share experiences, make new connections while serving, and stay connected once discharged.

ArmedZilla Founder and CEO, David Johnson, a veteran soldier in Special Operations, with three tours to Iraq, has developed the Military Social Media platform based on his own personal experience. According to Johnson, "I had trouble transitioning back to civilian life and felt the need for a support system of like-minded people. ArmedZilla was the result."

Unlike Facebook or Twitter, ArmedZilla is built solely for the purpose of supporting Military and the information contained within this social media platform has been prepared for this specific niche.

The site reaches out to all military branches. Members can join at no cost to share words of encouragement, re-connect with former buddies, get daily installation and base information, receive motivational assistance, and interact with civilian friends and family.

Some features of the site include a bulletin board to post needs and requests, a "theme of the month" that allows members to preview videos that provide helpful information, and Installation Updates to keep up with current information. "It will continue to evolve based upon the feedback of the members and their supporters," continues Johnson.

"We are committed to providing our members with 'User Friendly' services that help them in their day-to-day lives," claims David Johnson. "Our goal is to create and maintain relationships, provide useful information and be a source of support during and after military service."

Johnson and Co-Founder Chris Ellis, who has been involved in building other Social Networks, said, "ArmedZilla.com has more meaning than all the other sites I've worked on combined!" Ellis has worked directly with Johnson to assemble a team of professionals in Phoenix, Arizona to build the brand of ArmedZilla. Since the initial Beta launch of ArmedZilla, Johnson has been featured on "Good Morning Arizona" for the third time, in Phoenix to discuss the benefits of the breakthrough Social Media platform. As of the date of this release, ArmedZilla is rolling out the site for worldwide use.
