Art Directors Guild (ADG) Announces Winners of Its 2005 Excellence in Production Design Awards

BEVERLY HILLS, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- February 12, 2006 -- The Art Directors Guild (ADG) tonight announced winners of its Excellence in 2005 Production Design Awards in seven categories of film, television and commercials during black-tie ceremonies from the International Ballroom of the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills. Honorary awards were presented to Production Designer John Mansbridge for Lifetime Achievement, to Steven Spielberg for Outstanding Contribution to Cinematic Imagery and to Ronald V. Strang for Career Achievement for Scenic Arts. President of the Art Directors Guild Council Thomas A. Walsh presided over the awards ceremony with Jeffrey Tambor, serving as host.

During its ceremony tonight ADG inducted five additional legendry Production Designers into its Hall of Fame, bringing the roster to 12. The new inductees are John Box, Hans Dreier, Cedric Gibbons, Jan Scott and Alexandre Trauner.

Presenters for this year's awards included Garcella Beauvais-Nilon ("NYPD Blue"), Production Designer Robert Boyle, Tyrese Gibson ("Four Brothers"), Director Paul Haggis ("Crash"), Laura Herring ("Law & Order"), Dean Jones ("The Love Bug"), Producer Kathleen Kennedy, Ian McShane ("Deadwood"), Production Designer J. Michael Riva, Kelly Rutherford ("E-Ring"), Doug Savant ("Desperate Housewives"), Jane Seymour ("Wedding Crashers") and Jean Smart ("24").

Sponsors of this year's ADG Awards included ICM, United Talent Agency and 20th Century Fox. Tarin Wilson and her plan A Events Company produced this year's awards ceremony for ADG.
