HONOLULU, HI--(Marketwire - Jun 15, 2012) - The second Art of Hawaiian Coffee event, presented by DFS Galleria Waikiki from August 21 through August 26, 2012, will showcase Hawaii coffee growers and their specialty coffees.
This popular event will provide Hawaiian coffee-related activities, free samplings, children's activities, an exhibition on the Hawaii coffee story, a latte art competition and an attempt at the Guinness record for coffee mosaic art. The event is free and open to the public.
Hawaii is the only state within the USA producing coffee and offers 100 percent Hawaiian grown, Arabica coffees from the major islands. Hawaii has it all from bean to cup, from small family farms to large mechanized estates and from hand pickers to accomplished baristas. Coffee is harvested annually, and 'Art of Hawaiian Coffee' will be an extraordinary opportunity to taste the various Hawaii coffees from different islands.
Some of the coffee growers participating in this year's event include: Kona Coffee and Tea, Javaloha, and Coffees of Hawaii. Displays, tastings and coffee events will occur daily from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
One of the event highlights is the latte art contest in which baristas compete head-to-head on stage under the pressure of time constraints and celebrity judges. The event also includes an exhibit showcasing the unique story of Hawaii coffee and its history, fun children's activities and a coffee mosaic assembled by DFS employees.
DFS Galleria Waikiki is located at 330 Royal Hawaiian Avenue in Honolulu, Hawaii. For more information contact DFS at (808) 931-2700 or visit www.facebook.com/artofhawaiiancoffee.
