MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - June 11, 2015) -

Canada - This June, yoga will be the catalyst to dissolve all boundaries, and bring people together.

13 June 2015 - For the first time ever, the world will "warm up" in different time zones to show that the "Sun Never Sets on Yoga." Organized by the Art of Living Foundation, the June 13 event will see thousands of yoga enthusiasts in 108 cities gather in front of a popular landmark to salute the rising sun with sun salutations - a basic yoga sequence. Someone will be doing yoga in some corner of the world at all times! In Canada, Halifax (Point Pleasant Park) and Toronto GTA (C.N. Tower, Brampton City Hall, Mississauga Celebration Square) will be part of this yoga wave.

21 June 2015 - 5,000 locations in 132 countries around the globe will be united through the practice of sun salutations, to commemorate the first International Day of Yoga. From Canada to Australia, an estimated five million people will unroll their yoga mats with the Art of Living to mark the occasion. Eight cities in Canada will be joining in.

"Yoga has today become synonymous with relaxation, happiness, or a creative mind. The world is embracing it as a skill to enhance the quality of life. We want to reinforce this on the International Day of Yoga," says Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Art of Living founder.

Sri Sri will be speaking on "Yoga: a new dimension" at the Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center, in New York on June 21. He has played an important role in sensitizing the world about the essence of yoga. From the European Parliament to Capitol Hill in the US, to the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, Sri Sri has been travelling the globe demystifying yoga and making it more acceptable and appealing. His pragmatic approach has helped bring yoga to people from all walks of life, cultures and traditions.

In New Delhi, thousands of Art of Living volunteers will join India Prime Minister Narendra Modi in celebrating the day at the India Gate, while Art of Living Ottawa will partner with the High Commission of India's event at the Centurion Center. Through the "Yogdaan - Gift of Yoga" initiative set to culminate on the International Day of Yoga, Art of Living has taught basic yoga to over one hundred thousand people across India.

24 to 31 July 2015 - Sri Sri will be visiting Canada, at the International Art of Living Centre in Quebec (the Mauricie region). Yoga, breathing, and meditation retreats will be offered, including daily sessions with Sri Sri.
