Artificial Solutions Announces Key Board Appointments

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CALIFORNIA--(Marketwired - May 12, 2016) - Artificial Solutions™ (www.artificial-solutions.com), the natural language interaction (NLI) specialist that enables users to have a meaningful, humanlike interaction with technology, announced today two new key appointments to its Board. Jan Uddenfeldt, one of the main inventors of wireless technology and credited for moving Ericsson and Sony from the cellular industry into the broadband era, and John Medica, whose industry expertise has benefited Dell, Apple and more recently the Compal Group, have joined Artificial Solutions' board of directors, chaired by Fredrik Oweson.

They join Artificial Solutions during a period of intense growth, fuelled by demand in North America for the company's Teneo™ platform that enables businesses to rapidly develop and build intelligent natural language interfaces independent of device, service or operating system.

"Natural language is one of the key technologies driving artificial intelligent applications whether it's bots, digital employees or the IoT," says Lawrence Flynn, CEO of Artificial Solutions. "As enterprises explore the possibilities, so new channels and ideas continue to arise. First it was Siri, then smartwatches, followed by Amazon Echo and now bots are back in fashion. Predicting what's next to catch the consumers' eye is difficult, which is why our technology delivers an adaptive approach to enterprises, one that is cross channel, multi-modal and multi-lingual."

As the former global CTO and Senior VP at Ericsson, Dr Jan Uddenfeldt headed the R&D during the 15 year period when Ericsson innovated and developed wireless technologies such as GSM, 3G and Bluetooth. His expertise and leadership drove the development of advanced wireless technologies into the Internet and broadband era. He is widely recognized for his contributions to the GSM standard and for his pioneering work in 3G UMTS and later 4G LTE. Jan is also the former CTO and Senior VP of Sony Mobile, where he was leading the technology transition of the company into Android smart phones during 2010-2013. He is currently board director and advisor to a number of Silicon Valley start-up companies, in addition to advising Ericsson and Sony.

John Medica served ten years at Apple Inc. in a variety of product development and operations related executive roles before joining Dell in 1993 to transform its global notebook business. He retired as a Senior Vice President and co-leader of the Product Development organization at Dell Inc. in 2007 after fourteen years of service. Since then John has served in a number of board roles including Vice Chairman and Corporate Adviser of Compal Group and as a director of National Instruments.

"I am delighted to welcome two such distinguished individuals to the board of Artificial Solutions," says Fredrik Oweson, Chairman of Artificial Solutions. "Their wealth of expertise in recognizing market opportunities in a fast moving technology industry will be a great benefit in helping us maximize our potential."
