Artist International's "The Kids Are All Right" Breaks $20 Million in U.S. Box Office Revenue

BEVERLY HILLS, CA--(Marketwire - September 22, 2010) - "The Kids Are All Right," produced in association with Hollywood Studios International's (PINKSHEETS: HYWS) wholly owned subsidiary, Artist International, pushed past the $20 million mark at the U.S. box office this past weekend and continues to climb. The film, which originally opened on July 9 on platform release in Los Angeles and New York, has steadily grown to nearly 1000 theaters and has surpassed studio expectations. The picture was produced for approximately $10 million with Hollywood Studios International's chairman and CEO Steven Saxton serving as an Executive Producer and Joel Newton, AI's Managing Director, as a Co-Producer.

Since making its debut at Sundance, which resulted in an intense bidding war, the film directed by Lisa Cholodenko ("Laurel Canyon," "High Art") and written by Cholodenko and Stuart Blumberg ("Keeping the Faith"), has garnered near unanimous praise from everyone from Entertainment Weekly, the New York Times, Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone, and the Chicago Tribune for its comedic and heartfelt portrayal of a lesbian couple whose teenage children decide to search out and bring their biological sperm donor father into their lives.

Starring four-time Academy Award nominee Julianne Moore ("A Single Man," "Magnolia,"), three-time Academy Award nominee Annette Bening ("American Beauty," "Being Julia"), Mia Wasikowska ("Alice in Wonderland"), Josh Hutcherson (starring in the upcoming "Red Dawn") and Mark Ruffalo ("Shutter Island," "Date Night," "Zodiac"), the movie combines comedic surprise with poignant emotional truth resulting in a funny, refreshing, and richly drawn portrait of a modern family.
