Artists for Conservation Displays Artwork at OpenRoad Infiniti

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - Nov. 24, 2014) - After a successful fourth annual Artists for Conservation Festival, the organization announced today the world-class art exhibit will make an encore appearance at OpenRoad Infiniti in Langley starting November 27. Free to the community, guests will have one last opportunity to admire and purchase some of the latest original artworks by leading nature and wildlife artists from around the world. Accompanying the four-day exhibit will be live birds of prey, music, and a chance to mingle with some of the artists.

"The reaction to this year's bear-themed festival was overwhelmingly positive," said Jeff Whiting, founder and president of Artists for Conservation. "Each year, our goal is to share the conservation message through art to a broader audience. Our partnership with OpenRoad Infiniti allows us to do just that."

Artists for Conservation is a team dedicated to generating awareness and stimulating discussion on an array of conservation issues and this year, a major focus was put on bears. The importance of bears as indicators of a healthy environment combined with the recent controversy around bear trophy hunting in British Columbia prompted the focus of this year's festival. The extended exhibit at Open Road Infiniti will support AFC's youth art and environmental education program by raising funds and awareness for Artists for Conservation programs.

"Through our partnership with Artists for Conservation, we're excited to help spread their message of conservation and environmental education to the customers and residents of the Langley and surrounding communities," said Sharon Rupal, General Manager of OpenRoad Infiniti. "In order to further support the Artists for Conservation continued programs, during the span of the exhibit OpenRoad Infiniti will donate $25 each time an Infiniti hybrid or any other 2015 Infiniti vehicle is test driven at the dealership."

Original art pieces in the exhibit are available for sale with 40 per cent of all sales directly supporting Artists for Conservation's youth and environmental education programs. Several AFC artists will be in attendance over the course of the four-day exhibit. The festival opens to public at 10am on Thursday, November 27 and runs until 4pm on Sunday, November 30 at OpenRoad Infiniti in Langley. Special family activities including crafts, artists' meet and greets, live music by guitarist John Gilliat, live birds of prey from Delta's OWL Rehabilitation Society and live art demonstrations are planned for the weekend.
