Artists Open Their Studios to the Public During Silicon Valley Open Studios (SVOS)

Opportunity to Get "Up Close and Personal" With Peninsula and South Bay Talent

CAMPBELL, CA--(Marketwired - Mar 31, 2014) - More than 380 artists in the South Bay and Peninsula will open their studios to the public during the annual Silicon Valley Open Studios (SVOS) held the first three weekends in May. Now in its 28th year, this annual event lets visitors experience a wide variety of art in the artists' own studios.

Participating artists work in a variety of visual media including painting, watercolors, mixed media, jewelry, photography, sculpture and pottery. The art on display is one-of-a-kind.

"This free event enables visitors to spend quality time with the artists in a comfortable setting," said Mel Thomsen, executive director of SVOS. "Visitors can talk with the artists, see a larger body of the artists' work than is typically available and, in some cases, see the artists at work."

SVOS attracts many emerging and first-time artists. "In fact, many of Silicon Valley's finest gallery owners and museum curators tour the event incognito, searching for new talent," he said.
