Arts and Culture in Steinbach Benefit from Federal Funding

Government of Canada announces support for the Steinbach Arts Council


STEINBACH, MANITOBA--(Marketwired - March 3, 2015) - Department of Canadian Heritage

The Government of Canada is providing total funding of $24,000 over two years ($12,000 per year) to the Steinbach Arts Council for its 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 Concert Show Series. This funding is being provided through the Canada Arts Presentation Fund of the Department of Canadian Heritage.

Ted Falk, Member of Parliament (Provencher), made this announcement today on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.

Quick Facts

  • The Concert Show Series takes place from September to May and includes a variety of live performances that span classical, folk and world music; theatre; comedy; literature and interdisciplinary performances.
  • As part of the series, the Council also presents a variety of activities to attract youth and enhance audience appreciation, such as workshops where participants observe a rehearsal and take part in post-show artist talks, public discussions, round-table presentations and lectures.
