Arxan to Protect Entertainment Industry's Leading Advanced Content Security Solution

Thomson to Integrate Arxan's Technology Into Its NexGuard Suite

LAS VEGAS, NV -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 16, 2007 --NAB2007 -- Arxan Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of security solutions designed to protect software applications, today announced a deal aimed at further strengthening the battle against piracy of digital media including films, videos, and television programs during the production and post-production process.

Thomson (Euronext: 18453) (NYSE: TMS) has decided to integrate Arxan's software anti-tamper, anti-piracy technology into Thomson's NexGuard, its digital rights and media management suite of tools specially tailored for the professional entertainment environment. Thomson is the first group to integrate this technology into its content security solutions.

The addition of Arxan technology fortifies the security of the NexGuard protection suite, which already offers encryption-based access control, watermarking, and forensic data solutions to manage and secure storage, transfer, and viewing of digital content across multiple post-production, production or content distribution facilities within a company and among producers, agencies and other adjunct personnel. Arxan safeguards software applications from unauthorized changes, reverse engineering and code-lifting. Arxan provides durable security through its patented Guard™ technology, which enables software applications to actively prevent, detect, and react to piracy and tampering attacks. By associating tamper resistant hardware, such as smart cards, and tamper resistant software, NexGuard offers best-of-breed content protection for entertainment professionals.

According to the Motion Picture Association of America, piracy and hacking of digital movies and videos cost the industry more than $6 billion in lost revenues and damage last year in the U.S. alone.

"Securing digital content starts from production and continues through distribution," said Jean-Luc Moullet, vice president in charge of Software & Technology Solutions, the Thomson business unit overseeing the Group's content security activities. "Thomson's NexGuard solution has been adopted by leading media companies to prevent valuable content from being pirated. Thanks to our partnership with Arxan, NexGuard relies upon best-of-breed anti-tamper and anti-hacking technologies. These technologies help our customers ward off new and emerging threats, in a manner which is both extremely user friendly and without impact on application performance."

"The entertainment industry continues to embrace digital formats, from media processing to end-point distribution, to reduce costs and speed time-to-market. As the statistics bear out, however, media piracy is a large and growing problem," said Mike Dager, CEO and chairman for Arxan Technologies, Inc. "We are excited to expand our footprint in the digital media space and help address this critical issue by partnering with Thomson, the leader in technology solutions for the media and entertainment business."
