As Announced, SITA UK and Cyclamax Have Signed-Up to Partner on Six New Gasification-Led Resource Parks for Commercial and Industrial Waste; Ascot Environmental Will Provide Turnkey Gasification Facilities

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - September 29, 2009) - On September 9, 2009, SITA UK, a subsidiary of Suez Environnement, announced that it has teamed up with Cyclamax to develop 6 new gasification-led resource parks sited in the United Kingdom. The plants will treat in excess of 600,000 metric tonnes of commercial and industrial waste. This agreement is one of the biggest ever commitments to developing gasification capacity in the UK and, as planned, will produce enough electrical power for over 85,000 homes.

Ascot Environmental will provide turnkey gasification facilities at the first 4 projects using batched gasification technology, a relatively simple, but robust renewable energy technology distributed by Planet Advantage Ltd. (Waste2Energy's (OTCBB: WTEZE) exclusive distributor in the UK and Ireland) and integrated into the EPC contract by Ascot.

Phil Scowcroft, Managing Director of Planet Advantage, stated, "Utilizing Waste2Energy's cBOS™ technology, the first four projects will be in Bristol, Chesterfield, London and Derby, where planning consents and permits have been received or are anticipated in the short term. A further two sites will be announced shortly, and others are under consideration. This is a very exciting development by Sita, and one which will certainly make the market sit up and take notice."

Waste2Energy estimates that approximately 18 cBOS™ trains would need to be installed to deal with the anticipated 360,000 tonnes p.a. at the first four sites. Between 25 - 30 cBOS™ trains may be required to process the 600,000 tonnes of waste envisioned for all 6 sites.

On 6th August, Ascot, through its subsidiary Scotgen, officially opened the first commercial scale Batch Oxidation System (cBOS™) gasification plant in the UK at Dumfries. Through the announcement of these projects with SITA UK, Ascot and Cyclamax clearly demonstrate their leading position in the waste management supplier services market and Waste2Energy congratulates the Ascot team on this latest important milestone.
