ASCAP's Mediaguide Has Now Become the New Standard in Broadcast Monitoring

NEW YORK, NY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- September 6, 2005 -- Today ASCAP CEO John LoFrumento acknowledged the growing interest in digital audio monitoring by providing news of the growing success of ASCAP's co-owned company, Mediaguide.

According to LoFrumento, "Mediaguide has now been accepted as the broadcast monitoring standard by some of the biggest names in media, marketing, entertainment and research. The long list of companies currently using Mediaguide include CMJ Network, Taylor Nelson Sofres, JazzWeek, ABC Radio Networks, more than 150 record labels, hundreds of advertisers and numerous radio groups. This is because Mediaguide's monitoring technologies have major advantages over all others in terms of automation, scale, timeliness, accuracy and reliability. It enjoys more broadcast market coverage than all other services combined having been deployed for almost 3 years in over 200 major U.S. and international markets. Our 220,000 ASCAP members already enjoy the benefits with every ASCAP royalty distribution and are beginning to see new revenue streams from Mediaguide's unique ability to serve radio stations, major and independent music labels, independent artists, political candidates, advertisers and ad agencies."

LoFrumento added, "We at ASCAP are pleased to once again be out front in an area with such long term potential. It is gratifying that, three years later, our competition has now acknowledged the advantage of a digital fingerprinting capability. In our view, this is a clear endorsement of the effectiveness and success of our new standard."
