Asda Money Selects 5 Top Destinations to Escape the Washout

Asda Money selects the top five destinations to escape showers this year.

LEEDS, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - July 23, 2012) - No one enjoys wet weather and a number of Brits could be looking towards hotter destinations in the coming weeks. When it comes to booking a holiday amidst all this bad weather it comes as no surprise that Asda Money research shows that over 60% of holidaymakers look for a beach when they're booking*.

With destinations such as Thailand, the Canary Islands and Las Vegas offering a high chance of sunshine at this time of year, many Brits bored of the wet weather will be keen to jet off somewhere hot and sunny.

For those booking last minute deals in order to escape the rain they may wish to consider travel insurance for their trip. Travel insurance may be able to offer benefits such as medical emergency costs and compensation for any cancellations whilst travelling.

Five of the Best Destinations to escape spring showers:

Thailand

With scorching sunshine ranging from a high of 40C to a low of 20C at this time of year, there may be no better place to catch some rays than on a Thai beach.

Dominica

Dominica is just one of the many Caribbean destinations where you can find sunshine to escape from the dreary British weather.

Cape Town

South Africa is famous for sunshine. Cape Town is a popular holiday destination all year round for tourists and one which delivers sunshine almost every day. Cape Town is one of the most popular destinations for Brits to visit during the dark winter months** and so it would be no surprise if it made it onto a list to beat wet weather blues.

Las Vegas

Why head to a beach when you can have a desert or a dry stretch of seemingly endless sand and sun? Visitors to Las Vegas can be virtually guaranteed sunshine. Of course, there are also plenty of poolside bars and late night casinos to keep you busy.

Canary Islands

The Canary Islands welcome thousands of British tourists every year. Located just 50 miles off the coast of sub Saharan Africa, you can see why a number of tourists flock to Gran Canaria, Tenerife and Lanzarote for some sun, sea and relaxation.
