Asian Mineral Resources Limited Hires General Manager and Grants Share Options

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - March 8, 2007) - Asian Mineral Resources Limited (TSX VENTURE:ASN) announces that Robert D. Guest will become General Manager of the Ban Phuc Nickel Mines joint venture in which ASN has a 90% interest. Mr. Guest, a mining engineer with more than 25 years' experience in mining projects in various parts of the world, including more than 15 years in South East Asia, will be taking up full-time duties on May 15, 2007 under an employment contract which includes the granting of 500,000 ASN common share options, of which 200,000 will vest in November 2007 and the remainder will vest in three tranches subject to the achievement of commissioning milestones on the Ban Phuc nickel project. Commenting on Mr. Guest's appointment, Robert Thomson, ASN's President and CEO, said: "We are delighted Rob Guest is joining our team. He brings to the project extensive hands-on experience in developing resource projects. His hiring is one more of the steps we are taking so that we can get off to a running start as soon as we get our mining license for Ban Phuc."

The grant of the stock options is subject to the approval of the TSX Venture Exchange.
