Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers (AGEM) Announces 3-Year Contract Extension for Executive Director Marcus Prater

LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwire - Sep 29, 2011) - The Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers (AGEM) announced today that respected gaming industry veteran Marcus Prater has signed a new 3-year contract extension that will keep him as the organization's Executive Director into 2015.

Prater has been AGEM's Executive Director since 2008 and his current 3-year term was set to expire in February 2012.

"Everyone at AGEM felt it was important to secure Marcus' leadership and marketing expertise now so that the momentum the organization has been experiencing will continue without interruption," said AGEM President Thomas A. Jingoli, also Konami Gaming's Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer. "Since Marcus took over as Executive Director, AGEM's membership has more than tripled and now stands at 109 respected companies, with more than 30 based outside of the U.S. Despite AGEM tripling in size over the past 3 years, the organization has not experienced a material increase in overhead or infrastructure, allowing us to react quickly and efficiently when focusing on key issues important to global gaming suppliers.

"Marcus has also been working hard for all gaming suppliers in important but complicated markets such as Illinois and Mexico while staying true to AGEM's mission of supporting responsible gaming initiatives, education issues, political action activities, regulatory reform projects and trade show and marketing events," Jingoli said.

"I appreciate the support of the AGEM Officers and the entire organization," Prater said. "We are doing good work that benefits the entire supplier sector, and I'm motivated to continue to boost AGEM's presence, reputation and service around the world for the benefit of all of our member companies."

AGEM is an international trade association representing manufacturers and suppliers of electronic gaming devices, systems, table games, key components and support products and services for the gaming industry.
