Association of Washington Business and SaaS Markets Partner to Launch Small Business App Store

App Store Includes More Than 1,300 Pre-Qualified Software as a Service Apps, Resources to Help Entrepreneurs Get More Value From Technology

SAN MATEO, CA--(Marketwire - Oct 10, 2012) - Washington State's chamber of commerce, the Association of Washington Business, will soon be equipping entrepreneurs and businesses with the technology tools they need to be successful. The Association of Washington Business has joined forces with SaaS Markets, the world's No. 1 business app store provider, to introduce a Small Business App Store to its members, which will offer small and medium-sized businesses the opportunity to browse, try and purchase more than 1,300 Web-based applications in a trusted, online marketplace.

"Small business owners have enough challenges in their day-to-day lives," said Ferdi Roberts, founder and CEO of SaaS Markets. "With the Small Business App Store that AWB is planning to introduce, searching for the right Web apps for their business will no longer be one of them. Helping AWB increase the productivity and competitiveness of small businesses in the State of Washington is a tremendous honor, and we look forward to working with them toward that goal over the coming months."

The AWB Small Business App Store will officially launch on Wednesday, October 17, 2012, bringing the members ease-of-use and the ability to try applications without commitment, building efficiency and offering comparable views of their application options. The SaaS (Software as a Service) applications will provide business owners the software they need directly from the App Store, sparing them from the upfront cost, complexity and risk of purchasing, installing and maintaining software on their own servers.

"AWB is excited to be the first state chamber in the nation to provide this innovative solution to our small business members," said Kris Johnson, vice president of operations for AWB. "The AWB Small Business App Store engages our members on their schedule, when they need help -- before or after hours, on weekends, from home or at the office. If they have Internet access, they can use the App Store to find what they need to do business."

"Small businesses have enough challenges keeping pace with regulatory changes, taxes and the basic tasks of running a business without also having to become software experts," added Johnson. "The AWB App Store gives our small business members easy-to-access tools they can use to succeed in today's uncertain and competitive business climate, at a cost they can afford."
