At 67%, Company Websites Top the List When It Comes to Job Search Tools

New SilkRoad Research Reveals Preferences and Peeves From the Candidate's Perspective

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwired - March 10, 2015) - SilkRoad, a leading global provider of cloud-based talent management solutions, released a new TalentTalk report and infographic, The Candidates Dish About Your Hiring Process, revealing that even the best employers must worry about the frustrations and pet-peeves of top talent when vying for candidates. Based on survey responses from over 400 current and recent job seekers, SilkRoad's report provides insight into which parts of the job search process work, where candidates are searching, what devices they are using, and discusses some of the frustrations they face.

Report Highlights

  • Job seekers are looking at company websites (67%), job boards (57%), and are being referred to new positions (51%).
  • When it comes to a social job search, candidates felt LinkedIn (52%) provided the best job leads, with Facebook (26%) in second place with half as many respondents selecting that choice.
  • Candidates look for good benefits (56%), work/life balance (52%), and flexible work arrangements (40%) when seeking a new employer.

Methodology and Respondent Profile

Survey date: January 2015, 433 professionals responded.
Delivery System: Conducted online and delivered to job seekers and working professionals in corporations and not-for-profit organizations. 53% were female, 42% male, 5% chose not to answer. 39% had a 4-year college degree and 31% a graduate-level degree, 53% were Millennials.
