At Taleo World, Talent Intelligence Transforms Corporate Strategy

Record Setting Audience of Taleo Users Gather to Learn How Mobile Technologies and Social Networking Are Shaping the Future of Talent Management

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - Sep 12, 2011) - TALEO WORLD -- More organizations are embracing the power of Talent Intelligence, making it an integral part of their corporate strategy, and increasingly relying on social media networks and mobile technologies to acquire and retain the talent they need to remain competitive.

These are the forces shaping the future of Talent Management, according to Michael Gregoire, Chairman and CEO of Taleo Corporation (NASDAQ: TLEO), the global leader of SaaS-based Talent Management solutions. Gregoire made the remarks in his keynote speech this morning before a record-setting audience of 1600 at Taleo World, where human resources and Talent Management executives will explore how best to use Talent Intelligence to know their people and grow their business.

"Talent Management strategies are becoming part of the very marrow of corporate strategic plans, a sign that Talent Intelligence is playing an ever-larger role in business growth," said Gregoire. "As forces like social networking and mobile technologies dictate how companies connect with talent, no business can afford to let these trends escape its grasp. That's why Taleo continues to evolve our vision for Talent Intelligence -- aggressively, and always with an eye on what's next."

Gregoire pointed to industry data that reveal how these trends are already underway:

  • In PWC's 2011 CEO Survey, leading CEOs identified talent management as a major challenge and a key driver of business performance.i
  • More companies are using social media to recruit top talent and hire from within. It helped CDW, a $7.6 billion technology solutions provider, cut its overall talent management costs by 48 percent.ii
  • Mobile workers are growing so common that there will be 1.2 billion by 2013; by then, IDC expects three out of four U.S. workers will be mobile.iii

For the next three days, Taleo World will feature speeches, presentations and news events that show how these three trends are defining Talent Management's future.

More than 1,600 Taleo World attendees are also expected to be on hand Tuesday for a Day Two keynote speech by former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. Dr. Rice, whose speech focuses on how leaders are called to make critical decisions in difficult times, joins former Deloitte Chairwoman Sharon L. Allen, Fortune Magazine Senior Editor Geoff Colvin, and New York Times & Wall Street Journal bestselling author Daniel Pink as headline speakers for the event.

Taleo and LinkedIn announced a joint collaboration that will make it easier for job-seekers to apply online by allowing them, with the click of a button, to pull information directly from their LinkedIn profiles into online applications. In addition, recruiters now have instant access to candidate information stored in more than 120 million LinkedIn profiles, all without ever leaving Taleo. Click here for more details.

Taleo also unveiled the latest release of Taleo Enterprise™, which introduces groundbreaking social recruiting capabilities, new search and visualization tools, and a more flexible talent development environment. Together, the enhancements allow organizations to act on insights instantly by putting Talent Intelligence right where employees, managers and recruiters need it most.

On Tuesday, Taleo World attendees will vote to select the winner of the 2011 Taleo Customer Innovation Award. Throughout the conference, audience members will see video presentations describing how three finalists have creatively and strategically optimized Talent Intelligence to transform their businesses and drive growth. Then they'll use on-site voting technology to select the winner at a special Tuesday luncheon.

Taleo is also launching a new Taleo World mobile application for the iPhone family, Blackberry, and Android, the features including:

My WorldCal, a calendar within the application with the agenda to enable daily planning; a link to Taleo Partners so attendees can learn how to leverage Taleo products; a QR scanner with geo-targeted restaurants; pertinent hotel and event information; and a Twitter feed integrated with Facebook enabling up to the minute tweets and posts.

More than 55 partner solutions designed to take advantage of the mobile and social networking habits of today's workforce are showcased at Taleo's Pair Fair. Along with 90 other integrated offerings, these solutions all build upon Taleo's Talent Intelligence capabilities.
