ATCO Contributes $142,500 to Support Botanic Garden in Adelaide

Contribution Honours Former ATCO Australia Executive Clive Armour

ADELAIDE, AUSTRALIA--(Marketwire - April 17, 2008) - The ATCO Group of Companies will contribute significant financial support over the next five years to the South Australia Heritage Garden - National Species Rose Collection at the Botanic Gardens of Adelaide in South Australia.

Nancy Southern, President and Chief Executive Officer, ATCO Group, announced the $142,500 contribution Thursday during a Board of Directors visit to Adelaide, where the corporation operates both manufacturing and power generation facilities.

The sponsorship was made in the name of the late Clive Armour, the former Managing Director, Chairman & Secretary of ATCO's Australian operations who passed away earlier this year. Mr. Armour, renowned for his extensive community contributions, was a strong supporter and passionate advocate of the world famous Botanic Gardens. Clive's wife, Heather, business associates and government officials attended the dinner where the announcement was made.

"Clive's passion for commerce and strong family values was also evident in his dedication to the principles upheld by the Botanic Gardens", said Nancy Southern, President & Chief Executive Officer, ATCO Group. "Clive was a tireless Board Member eventually Chairman of the Board of the Gardens for 16 years and it was his hope that ATCO would corporately support the important and beautiful national species rose collection, so it is with great honour and pride, on behalf of all of Clive's colleagues in ATCO Group, that we are announcing our support to help make one of Clive's dreams come true."

ATCO opened its first manufacturing plant in Adelaide in 1961 and currently has operations in 12 locations across Australia, including two environmentally progressive cogeneration power plants in Adelaide and Brisbane.

ATCO Group, a Canadian-based worldwide organization of companies with assets of approximately $8.0 billion and more than 7,800 employees, is comprised of three main business divisions: Power Generation, Utilities (natural gas and electricity transmission and distribution) and Global Enterprises (industrials, technology, logistics and energy services).
