Athabasca Potash Announces Resignation of Chief Executive Officer

SASKATOON, SASKATCHEWAN--(Marketwire - Sept. 30, 2009) - Athabasca Potash Inc. ("API") (TSX:API) announces the resignation of Robert Boyd as Chief Executive Officer of API today. API's board of directors is in the process of searching for new candidates for the position of Chief Executive Officer.

The Board and Management of API acknowledge Mr. Boyd's contribution and express their appreciation for his service to the Company.
