The USCG is being recognized by GCN for "Outstanding Information Technology Achievement in Government" for its AWS 2.0, which is built on AtHoc's IWSAlerts™ net-centric emergency mass notification solution. The system is being used by more than 100 Coast Guard facilities to send alerts to 50,000 Coast Guard personnel and the maritime community. The system is the first of its kind within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and is utilizing the same technology and architecture that has been recognized as best practice within the Department of Defense (DoD).
