ATI Addresses PC Management Needs through AMD's Commercial Stable Image Platform 'CSIP' Program

MARKHAM, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Sept. 27, 2005) -

ATI Announces Three CSIP-Qualified Motherboard Designs with Radeon® Xpress 200

ATI Technologies Inc., (TSX:ATY)(NASDAQ:ATYT), today announced that its Radeon® Xpress 200 platform technology will be an integral part of AMD's (NYSE: AMD) Commercial Stable Image Platform (CSIP). The program will include three CSIP-qualified and ATI-tested systems at launch. Developed to help simplify commercial PC management, AMD's new program provides system stability by ensuring availability of select AMD desktop and mobile processors, ATI Radeon Xpress 200 chipsets, motherboards and stable image drivers for a 15-month period.

The following motherboard designs based on the Radeon Xpress 200 platform technology qualify for AMD CSIP:

- MSI Computer Corporation: MS-7191 motherboard

- Elite Group Computer Systems (ECS): RS482-M motherboard

- ATI's Radeon® Xpress 200M "Piranha" mobile reference design.

ATI expects that additional ATI-platform designs will be added to the list of qualified CSIP products in early 2006.

"ATI has shown strong technology leadership by being the first to provide PCI Express integrated graphics chipsets on AMD platforms, as well as through their enthusiastic support for AMD's innovative Commercial Stable Image Platform," said Emile Ianni, Corporate Vice President, Platform Engineering and Infrastructure Development, Microprocessor Solutions Sector, AMD. "CSIP is designed to help meet the evolving client needs of medium and large business customers in the enterprise, and ATI's Radeon® Xpress chipsets are a key element. We are working together, empowering OEMs to provide stronger commercial solutions that support the long-term image stability computing needs of business, government and education."

"We recognize image stability is a critical requirement for today's IT organizations to enable faster PC deployment without having to think about compatibility between hardware and software," said Phil Eisler, Vice President and General Manager of ATI's Integrated and Mobile Business Unit. "ATI is committed to working closely with AMD and leading motherboard manufacturers to ensure our Radeon Xpress chipset products support AMD CSIP requirements and are available in motherboard designs qualified by the program."
