Atikwa Minerals Corporation Announces Seismic Data Base Licensing Agreement

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Feb. 13, 2009) -

Mr. Sean Kehoe, President and CEO reports that:

Atikwa Minerals Corporation. ("Atikwa or the Company") (TSX VENTURE:ATK) is pleased to announce that it has entered into a seismic data base licensing agreement with CanGeo Data Corporation ("CanGeo ") pursuant to which Atikwa has been granted an unconditional right, in perpetuity, to use of a complete copy of CanGeo's approximately 9,000 km proprietary seismic data base for exploration and development purposes. As consideration for the licensed rights, Atikwa has paid GeoCan a licensing fee of $60,000.00.

Standard off the shelf seismic trade data currently sells for up to $2,000.00 per km and costs around $16,000.00 per km to shoot new. Accordingly this licensing agreement represents a considerable asset to the Company by providing our geo science team with access to a significant amount of exploration, exploitation and development data, in many of the Company's key areas of concentration, at a fraction of the price of buying data through a conventional brokerage source.

Neither the TSX Venture Exchange nor its Regulation Services Provider (as that term is defined in the policies of the TSX Venture Exchange) accepts responsibility for the adequacy or accuracy of this release.
