Atlanta Legal Experts on Buckhead Business RadioX Discusses Solo Law Practice

ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwired - April 08, 2015) - Atlanta Legal Experts hosted a roundtable discussion transitioning from a large law firm to a small, solo practice. Host Emily Rowell was joined by Maya Simmons Rogers with Simmons Rogers, LLC, Michael Wilensky with Slater & Wilensky, LLC, Tiffany Simmons with Simmons Law and Anne Tyler Hamby with Hamby Benefits Law, LLC.

Having all practiced in large firms or corporate environments, the panelists have each branched into their own practices and scaled down to more "boutique" type settings where they can practice many types of law and experience a little bit of everything. The panelists agreed that this provides much more flexibility, a broader variety of legal work, and the chance to build closer relationships with their clients and work with them hands-on.

Maya Simmons Rogers is the Managing Partner of Simmons Rogers, LLC. After several years of internships and working with large firms and serving as general counsel for Fortune 500 companies, Rogers started her own firm. She specializes in business law, estate planning, family law and personal injury.

Joining in the discussion was Michael Wilensky, Partner with Slater & Wilensky, LLC. With over 40 years of combined legal experience, Slater & Wilensky use their knowledge, skill and work ethic to thousands of injury victims and their families obtain settlements and verdicts. Michael Wilensky is recognized as an experienced and committed advocate and litigator by insurance companies, defense attorneys, and judges.

Also on the panel was Tiffany Simmons, Managing Partner at Simmons Law, a firm which focuses on criminal defense, business law, and entertainment. She represents celebrities, businesses, and the everyday citizen. Simmons was also a part of the litigation team for a case that appeared on CNBC's American Greed, a weekly, true crime television documentary series. Simmons has been honored with the Client Distinction Award in both 2013 and 2014 from Martindale-Hubbell for being in the top one percent of her profession.

Concluding the panel discussion was Anne Tyler Hamby, Founder of Hamby Benefits Law, LLC. Prior to forming Hamby Benefits Law, LLC, she practiced employee benefits law with Alston & Bird LLP and King & Spalding LLP, two of Atlanta's largest law firms. Hamby has a distinguished reputation in legal circles regarding the laws around employee benefits, and she regularly speaks at employer "Lunch and Learns" on various employee benefit topics.
