Atlas Copco Selects EON Reality as Development Partner in AIRNET Planner

EON Planner and EON Server Speed and Simplify Scalable Compressed Air Facility Interactive 3D Configuration

IRVINE, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 23, 2007 -- EON Reality Inc., the world's leading interactive 3D software provider, was selected by the Industrial Air Division of Atlas Copco to participate in the development of the AIRNET Planner, a configuration tool for the AIRNET product (compressed air piping system) and compressor equipment.

Built on EON Reality's EON Planner and EON Server technology, the AIRNET Planner allows users, such as account managers, installers and technicians, to configure an entire Atlas Copco-based solution in an easy-to-use online environment. The application will be used by Atlas Copco distributors worldwide as well as internally by Atlas Copco staff.

"We are pleased that Atlas Copco has chosen to leverage EON's technology to improve its business processes for the end customer while decreasing cost in development for new compressor facilities or upgrades for existing customers," said Mats W. Johansson, chief executive officer of EON Reality Inc. "This illustrates the power of using EON's technology in an Integrated Product Content Management (IPCM) solution while leading the way toward an enhanced online experience in business applications."

Necessary business rules, such as maximum allowed piping lengths between sockets, are integrated to allow non-experts to build a configuration to standard specification. The AIRNET Planner allows Atlas Copco to significantly reduce lead time for engineering while simultaneously improving customer service. All Atlas Copco products, totaling more than 700 to date, such as compressors, dryers and filters, are converted from their native digital CAD format to EON Server's format, allowing for instant dynamic loading and configuration directly from a Web server. This enables Atlas Copco a new use for existing digital CAD assets outside the design process for sales as well as support use. In addition, the Snapshot functionality generates installation images on the fly to explain pipe layouts and connections better for the installer.

"Innovation has always been a major drive of the product development strategy of Atlas Copco. When evaluating the development of our new AIRnet range to build an air network, we realise that the building process is a time-consuming business. Therefore, the key design criteria of our AIRnet are assembly time and modularity, to guarantee that installations are performed in no time with extreme flexibility. With the AIRnet Planner we invented a new business concept to cut down the business time. From the AIRnet Planner, you can evaluate the technical performance (pressure drop) and create a full customized quotation. The AIRnet Planner inventories all items required and provides step by step assembly sequences to accelerate the job of the fitters. AIRnet network installation is becoming significantly faster and efficient," said Alain Lefranc, aftermarket product manager, Atlas Copco, Industrial Air Division.

The AIRNET Planner will be used by more than 3,000 people worldwide, supporting nine different languages, all major currencies and metric as well as imperial units.
