ATMA Classique Releases Schindler's List Recording - First of a Three-CD Contract with Switzerland's Bienne Orchestra

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - April 6, 2009) - ATMA Classique is pleased to introduce Schindler's List, the first of three CDs with the prestigious Bienne Orchestra of Switzerland under conductor Thomas Rosner. The Jewish-themed program is built around John Williams' Academy Award-winning score for Steven Spielberg's film of the same title. The recording includes Ernest Bloch's Suite Hebraique and Concerto grosso No. 1, and features violinist Alexandre da Costa and pianist Marc Pantillon as soloists. This CD was recorded and produced at the Palais des Congres de Bienne, Switzerland.

John Williams is the most prolific and sought-after film composer in Hollywood. Of his approximately 70 film scores, the soundtrack for Schindler's List is considered one of his masterpieces. Departing from his usual swashbuckling style, Williams' Suite is more nuanced and rich with hauntingly beautiful melodies.

Schindler's List is now available for sale on-line and in retail outlets across Canada.
