Atomic PR Named Agency of Record for shopkick, Inc.

Atomic Kicks Off shopkick Company Launch With High Profile Partner Events in NYC and San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - September 27, 2010) -  Atomic PR today announced it was named agency of record for shopkick (www.shopkick.com). Atomic's charter for shopkick includes strategic consultation, event management, speakers bureau, classical PR services in print, broadcast, and online media relations and assorted digital/social services. Atomic orchestrated shopkick's recent company launch in August with high profile Manhattan and San Francisco events alongside the company's blue chip partner brands. Budget is undisclosed.

"Atomic was both very analytical and creative in orchestrating our launch strategy, and was quite successful in execution, helping to put us ahead of where I anticipated being this early in the game," said Cyriac Roeding, CEO and co-founder of shopkick, Inc. "Atomic PR brings an intelligence and entrepreneurial spirit that is rare among agencies. That mix was crucial during the incredibly fast-paced launch period, when -- in true start-up fashion -- at any given moment, one of the many balls in the air was in danger of falling. None did, and we all had a great time, with great results."

shopkick is the leading location-based shopping application, launching with partners American Eagle, Best Buy, Macy's, Simon Malls and Sports Authority. The startup celebrated its one year birthday in July with a $15 million B Round led by Reid Hoffman and Greylock Partners. That announcement kicked off the partnership with Atomic PR, followed by a technical preview of the shopkick Signal in San Francisco, and a high-profile launch event at a partner store in NYC's Times Square.

"It's unusual to meet a startup founder in the Valley who doesn't tell you his company is the next game-changer, but with Cyriac and the shopkick team, it turns out to be true," said Martha Shaughnessy, vice president, Atomic PR. "When we applied Atomic's ComContext analytics to shopkick's space, it confirmed our belief that the media was ready for a location-based service with real consumer and brand value. That's shopkick, and we're excited to be a partner in the company's ongoing success."
