Atrua Fingerprint Touch Controls Enable Data Protection and Usability Enhancements in Toshiba 3G Phones

First Fingerprint Phones for Europe Include Innovative Touch Scrolling Feature

BARCELONA, SPAIN -- (MARKET WIRE) -- February 12, 2007 -- Atrua Technologies, Inc. (, the pioneer and leading provider of Intelligent Touch Controls™, today revealed that Toshiba's latest series of 3G Windows Mobile® phones, bound for European markets, include Atrua's market-leading, made-for-mobile fingerprint touch control solution.

Shown today at the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona, Toshiba's G500 and G900 provide a high-level of protection for sensitive personal and business data while enabling easy access to that data.

"Customers are demanding fingerprint touch controls in Windows Mobile® phones due to the critical information they contain," said Kosei Okamoto, Chief Technology Executive of Mobile Communications Company, Toshiba Corporation. "Atrua's solution is one of the best on the market, enhancing the security and usability of our mobile phones while being easy to integrate due to its good design, with benefits like low power consumption, small board area and limited CPU requirements." A research study by Dynamic Markets(1), commissioned by Toshiba, shows that over 50% of European entrepreneurs have concerns over security protection for their mobile devices.

More secure and more convenient than a password or a PIN, the Atrua Wings™ fingerprint recognition capability allows users to easily unlock the phone and its applications, including e-mail, contacts, calendar and to-do list. In addition, the touch control's navigation function provides users with the ability to smoothly and rapidly scroll through lists, providing a great improvement over the energetic clicking typically needed to find items buried within long lists of e-mail, contacts, call histories, to-do lists, photographs and music.

Atrua fingerprint touch controls can also be used to quickly and easily access frequently used mobile content and data services by creating fingerprint hotkeys that recognize which finger the user swipes to directly access the content without time-consuming key presses and searching.

"We are pleased that Toshiba has selected Atrua to enable their mobile phones with the capabilities of Atrua's intelligent fingerprint touch controls," stated Anthony Gioeli, president and CEO of Atrua. "As a top supplier to the fastest growing network operator in Japan, the world's leading market for deployment of next generation mobile phone features, Toshiba's experience and vision are contributing to Atrua's goal of providing more users with easy, secure access to information and services on mobile devices."

The Toshiba G500 and G900 phones can be seen in Toshiba's booth at Hall 1, Stand 1G19 or in Atrua's hospitality suite Hall 1, Level 1 HS72 by arranging a meeting through a message to

(1): An independent survey commissioned by Toshiba Information Systems (UK) Limited - Mobile Communications Division ("Toshiba") and executed by Dynamic Markets found that over 90 percent of European entrepreneurs store sensitive business information and documents on their mobile devices.
